Your computer must be properly set up in order to connect to traceroad.net. The steps are much the same if you are a customer moving from another Internet service or if you are completely new to the Internet. Briefly, here are things to consider: 1. Notify anyone who needs to know your new email address. This not only includes people or companies you email with regularly, but could include others. Examples are email forwarding links and domain name registrars. Your email address is in the letter or other material you should have received from us. 2. Create a connection for traceroad.net in your computer's dialing program. In Windows, this is usually called a "Dial-Up Networking Connection," which is accessed from the My Computer icon and is in the folder called Dial-Up Networking. You can also use the Internet Connection Wizard to create this new connection. This step requires the account information we've provided you. 3. Create or modify your email program to use the new traceroad.net mail servers. 4. Create or modify your news program to use the traceroad.net news server. This step is optional. Set up a personal web page if you wish. The page address will be http://web.traceroad.net/~yourloginname. More information is in our personal web page instructions. More detailed information for Windows users is on our help page. |
